Summer 2015: Part 1

We had a WONDERFUL summer! Brent didn't have any classes, which made his schedule a lot more flexible. We were able to squeeze in quite a bit of traveling, which made for some great extended family time. So here is our summer in pictures for May and June:

We celebrated Star Wars Day (May the 4th) by getting donuts

Sometimes I have too much fun at Hobby Lobby

Smoked meat was made in abundance

And there was lots of "Gwy" (Uncle Ryan) time

We went to Brent's youngest brother Josh's graduation at the end of May, and decided to stop along the way in Glenwood Springs to have our own little mini family vacation. We went to Glenwood Caverns, a cool park, and had plans to go swimming in a natural hot spring pool and go on a hike to Hanging Lake, but sadly the weather did not cooperate! Luckily we were able to do the park, but a big lightning storm blew in and ruined our other plans :(

Riding the tram up the mountain

Rode my first alpine coaster! So fun, and the view was incredible!

There was a giant mennonite/polygamist/Amish something group at the Park. We thought they were employees until we saw the children. They were actually a really nice bunch of people.

He doesn't know the track is blown off where the cliff is...

I have to post every smiling picture of this kid because he almost never smiles for the camera!

More pilgrims people. They came from Ohio. (Not sure how they heard about this place?) We all did the cave tour together, and let me tell you, Caleb was the worst behaved child there by a long shot, and they were all so nice about it!

Back down the mountain!

Made it to Grandma's house, and good times were had by all. Pants optional.

On our way to have dinner with my brother, and came across someone who was having a really bad day.

Nate and Caleb time!

Goodbye hair! I've wanted to cut my hair short for years and finally got the guts to do it!

I love it! Don't you? Because if you don't I really don't care. ;)

Josh's graduation party!

Lots of Grandpa (Pops) time. "Oh no you didn't."

Great way to celebrate Memorial Day!

Pops, watch out! The hammock is infested with grand babies! Also,  our sister-in-law Lauren put together an awesome array of "Olympic" games to play together, and I think everyone won at least one game (Bocce ball, egg-race relay, and   S-P-U-D were some of them). It was so great!

On our way home through beautiful Glenwood Canyon

Celebrating Laura's birthday at a dueling piano bar. Tom made her this cake!

Hosted a yard sale. Yay $ for my junk!

We always love it when Grandpa visits! He was so excited to show Caleb the ducks.

Caleb has learned how to get on the counter via the toilet. If there is water this kid is determined to get to it!

Smoked pizza!

There was a lot of this over the summer

Along with possibly my favorite picture of Caleb and me together

Our first garden! Fun fact: lettuce turns into a weed if not harvested fast enough. Don't ask how I know.

I decided to try selling my art at the Provo Farmer's Market! I did it four times and found I didn't make enough to make it worth it, but I gained great experience and feedback from doing it. No regrets, and you should all visit your local farmers market and support local business!

Rec Center fun!

Every Friday some other artist moms and I try to get together to make art while we take turns watching the kids. These two were just too darling!

I'm dying of cuteness.

I decided to be ambitious and re-do our ugly glider. Not bad! But not sure I'd do it again, and don't ask for tips because I had no idea what I was doing! Ha!
