#34: Another Bathroom Tale

It is time for another embarrassing moment post. This happened the week of this Halloween. My dear fiance Brent took me out to dinner at a lovely little place called La Jolla Groves in the Riverbottoms. Well, when I had almost finished dinner, nature called and I excused myself to the lady's room. I walked in, grateful no one else was in their to hear me do my business. My first thought was, huh, they must have remodeled the bathroom. I could have sworn their was more than one stall. I also admired the fancy baby changing station within the stall. Just as I was finishing taking a dump...er...doing my business, I heard the door open and I heard a little boy's voice whimper, "I gotta pee!" Great, now someone had to wait for me to finish using the stall.

Then I heard an interesting noise. It was a grunt from the adult accompanying the child. A very deep one.

Oh. My. Word.

While still sitting on the john, I peered underneath the stall.... sure enough, man shoes. There was no way I was getting out of this one. My next thought was, "Since when do they put baby changing tables in the MEN'S room?????" I flushed and FLEW out the stall and out the door, not even stopping to wash my hands. Thankfully the dad and son were using a urinal I had failed to notice right next to the sink, and didn't seem to see me. Unfortunately, I don't think they could have missed the sound of my clonking heels. I rushed straight to the actual lady's facilities to wash my hands, and recover from my mortification.

When I left the bathroom, I felt like every waiter walking by must have noticed what I'd done and I felt their judging eyes tell me what an idiot I was. Let's just say, when I returned to the table, Brent had quite the laugh.

At least I have someone who will laugh with me now. :)

25/100: Forrest's wife

I was asked to do this by my boss's boss. No pressure, right? Just traditional graphite. It feels good to just hold a pencil again. I hope they like it!

So. I know this cool girl. And she has this awesome hair. And today when a picture of her came up on my Facebook, I knew I had to recreate that hair. I was looking for a picture of someone so I could use up the rest of my ink from my previous piece and I saw that picture and that hair and knew it was meant to be :)

23/100: Cindy

This is my beautiful coworker who has been such a huge support to me bet since I met her over a year ago. I went for a new pinterest-inspired style, using watercolor pencils, watercolor, and ink.

22/100: Spongebob Squarepants

I made this with another guy in my ward for our ward derby. I think we placed second slowest, haha.

21/100 Jimmer!

This is a simple drawing I drew for work when Jimmer was recruited to the Sacramento Kings

17/100: Lindsey

Well, I can't say this is my favorite portrait I've done, but it's definitely the largest I've done. This piece is 4'x3' and the medium is oil.
....I think I like the background more than the figure haha. Although someone said it reminded them of those backdrops we had for school pictures back in the day. lol
This piece looks better in person...for some reason in this picture her face and leg look a little distorted. Grr oh well.

Also, I apologize for having totally slacked off on this project. I used to do my portraits on Sunday afternoons....but due to my calling I no longer have that kind of time. Therefore, instead of once a week, I will post when I can. Sorry!
